What is a Veterinary Clinic?

A veterinary clinic (commonly referred to as “vet clinic” or simply “vet”) is very similar to an animal hospital. They provide much of the same services, however are for less serious situations. Typically clinics are open for shorter hours, and unable to have same day lab testing results. They have the capability to complete examinations, diagnosis, and treatment. However, they can only perform minor surgeries, and usually do not offer hospitalization of your pet, since 24hr surveillance is not usually available. Clinics can easily do routine check-ups, minor injuries, spay/neuter, and vaccinations.

What services can a veterinary clinic provide?

Multiple services can be provided by veterinary clinics. Some of which include:

    • Anesthesia
    • Blood Pressure Monitoring
    • Boarding
    • Dentistry
    • Microchip Implants
    • Parasite Control
    • Physical Exams
    • Prescriptions
    • Radiology (X-Ray)
    • Surgery
    • Spay/Neuter
